Conveniently located in the scenic
woodlands of northwestern Pennsylvania, Leisure Acres Llamas
is your one-stop resource for llamas and llama information.
Since 1989, Chuck and Sonja Leach have operated Leisure Acres
Llamas with one goal in mind: to help others discover the joys
and pleasures of owning and appreciating these delightful animals.
The Leisure Acres
herd started with just one llama in 1989 and has since grown
to more than 80 animals. Pastured among 106 acres of rolling
hills and sweeping expanses of green valley, the Leisure Acres
llamas are given the best possible care and each one is both
registered and halter trained.
Both Chuck and
Sonja are are totally committed to the llama industry and have
become very active in it. They were instrumental in founding
the Pennsylvania Llama & Alpaca Association and Chuck served
as the group's first president. Sonja has served on the PLAA
board and Chuck has been the Industry Liasion for the Greater
Appalachian Llama and Alpaca Association.
They also sponsor and participate in special
events that help bring knowledge llamas to the public, including
hosting visits by school classes and scouting groups, taking
their llamas to senior citizen centers, participating in parades,
and even making the llamas part of the livestock in a "living
nativity" Christmas pageant.
